Introduction :-

ISI No Haath is a very interesting short story. It is based on a real event, and the story is written in  colloquial gujarati language. Story opens with some event happening in town. Everyone talked about that event. The story has suspense, thriller and great interest.

Characters :-

  1. S. P. Sing

  2. Prof. Indrajit Dhodakiya

  3.  Ishawar Dabhi

  4.  Sharad Joshi

Analysis of the story :-

In the beginning of the story we have found two contemporary historical events. First is Ayodhya case.

https://www.business-standard.com/about/what-is-ayodhya-case

Ayodhya, Ram Mandir and Babri Masjid Controversy.

Other events are connected with Godhra kand in Gujarat .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godhra_train_burning

With this reference we got the idea that the story must connect with religion. Yes,  it is true that the story is based on some real event and is connected with religion and temple building named ‘ VADI’. In this story there is not particularly mentioned which religion. The story is based on Religion, Business , education and power.

Prof. Dholakiya is the professor of chemistry and he put a bomb in place named ‘ Vadi’ with help of Sharad and Ishwar, but unfortunately they were exposed. S. P. Sing handled the case of this and he came to know that Prof. Dholkiya made this plan to save the university place.

This ‘VADI’ symbolises the place for business used in the name of religion. This story is based on the theme of how people are being fools by using the name of religion. This ‘ VADI’ caused so many troubles in some people’s lives. Prof. Dhodakiya made a bomb to alert the people that they all ( who are the members of ‘ Vadi’) make them fools. At the end we can see Professor, Sarad and Iswar being part of ‘ Vadi’ and S.P. Sing disappeared.

It is satire on the blind religion. How These Baba and Babi make fools to people by using the name of religion. For making ‘ Vadi’ so much politics had been done. Each and every place people were used for creating money using the name of religion. And the end of the story is very shocking because the person who was against all their shit, they will be the part of them.

It reflects  how people blindly follow religion.  For making that ‘ Vadi’ , University was ready to give place. So, many politics happened, scandals happened but at the end ‘ Vadi’ Committee won. It described the poor situation of India and our country. Our history has proof that how people deceive by using the name of religion.

2. Intellectual Indubhai by Mahendrasinh Parmar :

Here I am putting the link of the original story.

This story is also based on the real event. Protagonist of the story is Indubhai himself.

Analysis of the story :-

This story is connected with Godhra kand in Gujarat.

We found this event with reference in the story.  It has a majority- Minority group concept.

First we have to know what does mean by Majority- minority conflict.

-Majority rule is a decision rule that selects alternatives which have a majority, that is, more than half the votes. It is the binary decision rule used most often in influential decision-making bodies, including all the legislatures of democratic nations.

-  A minority group, by its original definition, refers to a group of people whose practices, race, religion, ethnicity, or other characteristics are fewer in numbers than the main groups of those classifications. However, in present-day sociology, a minority group refers to a category of people who experience relative disadvantage as compared to members of a dominant social group.

This ‘ 24 number nu patiyu ‘ and 90 people were buried is connected with Godhara kand. This story is satire on education, religion and minority- majority concept. One professor named Intellectual Indubhai plays a very vital role.  His own students believe in majority and minority concepts. When Indibhai came to know that the majority of people burned his books he was deeply shocked .  He said that all my education was wasted. This story is about one professor.

Story begins with one sister telling a story to his brother about Indubhai. Intellectual Indubhai. Beginning of the story is quite interesting . Both Brother and sister create satire on English words. It also describes still lots of people having trouble of English language and education.

At the end of the story Indubhai becomes made. He lost his memory and just indicated everyone by using the name of a great poet, philosopher and authors.

It is about how education plays a vital role in creating a better society.  At the end when Indubhai came to know that whatever he thought to his students it was useless then he became depressed and thought that no one can change the mentality of the person and specially the concept of majority and minority.

Thank You ……
