Hello !
I am Nidhi Jethava and in this blog I am going to discuss about the frame study of 'The Great Dictator' by Charley Chaplin
This was the time of world war and we can see the huge equipment was used by armies. We can see how much human power was needed to work on it. Three Men were needed to put the bullet in the machine.
In this image we can see that the dictator stands with the little baby. The expression of him and what he really wants is totally different. Nowadays dictators still do this for sympathy and innocence. Playing and spending time with children is connected with the symbol of innocence. It is all for publicity.

This image is very important reveal that how he is considering himself with the great leader. He saw himself with power and monarchy.
This picture is very interesting. On the one hand someone has been hanged and on the other hand all the soldiers are looking in different directions. This is a kind of injustice. We can assume that the person who has been hanged will have some very heinous crime lorries. But a closer look at history reveals that the battle was between two different religions. The man who is being hanged is a Jew and the soldiers are Jewish.
This image is concern with sycophancy- 'Bhakti' in politics is sure way towards dictatorship.
In this image we have seen two gates. We can evaluate it as the gate of heaven and hell and one man in the and one is standing near by him. In a way we can say that it reflected the power of a particular
place. The one globe of earth is also there. That earth significant, in a way it may suggest that there is
one who wants to control each and everything. The sign of two cross arrows reflected some kind of non acceptance
In this image we can ponder that one wants to control the whole world. Taking a globe of the earth in hand and looking at it is a bit of a pleasure, it indicates a kind of control over it.
Thank you.....
